2. Spend Christmas at the Caverns

3. Check Out the Pony Express

Head over to the Gruene Historic District to see Pony Express riders from the Heritage Trail Ride Association of New Braunfels carry Christmas Greetings from the Governor of Texas. A temporary post office will be set up and mail cards with the 2017 commemorative stamp representing Gruene.

4. Catch Lyle Lovett at Gruene Hall

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell RUN! The 25th annual Jingle Bell Run is happening this December starting at Gruene Hall. This run benefits abused children who call SJRC Texas home. By running, you are changing the lives of your community members! Sign up here, and get ready to run. Afterwards, you might receive a cash prize for winning...plus, you can enjoy a sausage wrap and hot chocolate!

6. Have a Family Fun Day
On December 9th, the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a family fun day at Fischer Park. This month, it’s a family fishing derby, where families will fish in the ponds to try and catch the biggest fish. If you don’t have any fishing equipment, there will be some provided. Prizes go to the winners!

7. Attend the New Braunfels Christmas Parade

New Braunfels Parks and Recreation does its best to provide one night a month where the parents can drop off the kids and go out knowing their children are in good hands. 11. Learn How to Make Tamales
