There’s always something happening in New Braunfels! Though the small-town atmosphere is alive and well in this Hill Country town, the local calendar is anything but sleepy. This weekend is no exception: you have your choice of multiple events, deals, and happenings in and around town. No need to research...here are five of the best fun things to do in New Braunfels (and Seguin!) this weekend!
1. Float Easy at Texas Riverfest
Texas Riverfest is here and it is the perfect way to showcase the beauty of the New Braunfels outdoors as well as good music and food. Friday afternoon, after you have lathered heavily in sunscreen, you’ll receive a toob rental at Rockin’ R Comal at 4:00PM and launch just before the Tube Chute. Get ready for a great ride- this one will be filled with live music and entertainment throughout the float. Once you get out and dry off, head to downtown New Braunfels or Gruene for music, drinks, and fun! Wristbands for access to the river and participating venues are $50 and will guarantee you two toob rentals at Rockin’ R, one for Friday on the Comal and the other for Saturday on the Guadalupe. For more information on the entire event, please visit the Texas Riverfest website.
When: Friday 4:00PM - Sunday 5:00PM
Where: Rockin’ R River Rides, 1405 Gruene Rd
2. Play Golf at Landa Park with Mixed Foursomes
Dust of the clubs and head over to Landa Park Golf Course for a fun round of Mixed Foursomes! This event is a blast, pairing two men and two women together for a nine-hole scramble in the cool temperatures of the evening. The event is followed by drinks in the premier bar and grill. The entry fee is $25 per person and includes nine holes of golf with cart, drink tickets, and prizes! More information and registration forms available here.
When: Friday, 6:00PM
Where: Landa Park Golf Course, 180 Golf Course Rd
3. Sing Along to Randy Rogers and Kevin Fowler at Whitewater Amphitheater
Get ready for a country music takeover with two of Texas’ biggest names in the genre. Randy Rogers and Kevin Fowler take the stage Saturday night at the Whitewater Amphitheater. Randy Rogers Band’s last project debuted as the most-downloaded country album on iTunes and has since been turning heads of everybody in the music industry. Touring their 2016 release “Nothing Shines Like Neon”, the Randy Rogers Band has only picked up momentum and has no plans of stopping.
Kevin Fowler is known for playing country with a bad attitude and describes himself as playing “hell-raisin’, good-time music”. He just released a new single “Sellout Song” and will soon have a new album available. What better way to spend a Saturday night than heading down to the beautiful outdoor venue, dancing along to some country music, and making sweet summer memories. Tickets available on the venue website.
