If you’ve ever turned on the radio and heard a song about Texas, we’re willing to bet the imagery makes you want to instantly drop what you’re doing and enjoy all there is about the Lone Star State. For instance, the fine folk of New Braunfels can relate to the Robert Earl Keen and Bill Whitbeck tune “There’s Only One ’S’ in New Braunfels” where they say, “You’ll find it right at the end. There’s not one in the middle, spell it with me friends.”
Given that the local music scene is a huge part of New Braunfels culture, we thought it would be appropriate to view these gorgeous homes through the lens of a few nostalgic, twangy tunes. Below are several New Braunfels homes and the songs that make us feel right at home in each one!
2174 Triple Peak Dr - $449,000
“Paint Me a Birmingham” by Tracy Lawrence
This home on Triple Peak Dr can either be a primary home or a beautiful vacation house. This 3-bed/2-bath home boasts plenty of space with a whopping 2,964 square feet. The song that instantly came to mind was Tracy Lawrence’s early 00s hit, “Paint Me a Birmingham.” This house sits right on Canyon Lake, and the living room windows provide the illusion that you can jump right into the water from inside the house. The back of the house has a wraparound deck that provides you with a 180-degree view of the lake, which made us think of the line: “Little house on the edge of town, porch going all the way around.” The master bedroom features a full mural of the countryside, that reminds us of the beginning of the song when the main character meets a painter on the beach.
“Backyard” by Of Monsters and Men
Sitting in Oak Valley Estates, this is one of the dreamiest homes in the best neighborhood in town. One look at the backyard and we were humming the song “Backyard” by Of Monsters and Men. “Find me in the backyard,” is the first line hums, and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. This gorgeous yard features abundant flowers and plenty of yard space for other projects or activities with over 6 farm-friendly acres of space! “I live a life of letting go under a starlit night, up there the stars are crystal lights.” We are swooning. This 4-bed/3-bath home also features high beamed ceilings, granite counters, beautiful flooring, 8-foot doors, and plenty of closet space!
“Let Them Be Little” by Lonestar
This charming 4-bed/3.5-bath home is just off of S Walnut Avenue and is perfect for growing families. There is plenty of carpet in the house (so toddlers can take a tumble without getting too hurt!). The upstairs has a living room that will turn into the kids’ game room one day, and there is an office that could eventually turn into a 5th bedroom (or turn back into an office depending on when the kids leave). All of these flexible features had us thinking of that great Lonestar song, “Let Them Be Little.” The song croons, “Let them be little ‘cause they’re only that way for a while. Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle.” To top it off, kids will be in the New Braunfels school district, a coveted area school district.
“Party on the Patio” by ZZ Top
Man, we love this house! This log cabin style home is a skip away from the Guadalupe River and a pleasant walk to Gruene. This gorgeous Hill Country retreat is a 3-bed/3-bath house with a bonus room and a garage with loads of space. It sits on two acres and offers seclusion while still feeling like a part of the neighborhood. In the backyard is an open-air patio that looks like your personal dance floor. That brought us back to that rock n roll song, “Party on the Patio” by ZZ Top. Those bearded men sing the lines, “We turned on the radio and had a party on the patio. Everybody’s gonna show for another party on the patio.” This backyard is going to be the new hangout spot for the whole gang. The kitchen features granite countertops and new appliances, and the interior of the home is designed to feel like a hilltop log cabin.

“Summer Shandy” by The Front Bottoms
This Happy Haven home sits on the banks of Lake McQueeney and is just waiting for the perfect owner to take full advantage of this incredible perk.
