5 Things To Do in New Braunfels This Weekend (April 22-24)

New Braunfels residents love that the town provides so much to see and do while still maintaining a great culture and small town feel. This weekend is no exception; there are a variety of different “things” happening in and around town. No need to research, five of the best fun things to do in New Braunfels this weekend are described below. Hopefully this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!

1. Celebrate Earth Day at the Farmers Market

The New Braunfels Farmers Market is your hotspot for farm-fresh eggs, breads, jams, jellies, local honey artisan goods, live music, and more. Shopping at your local market is always a great way to support local business and reduce your carbon footprint...but this Saturday morning, you can up your ‘green factor’ even more by celebrating Earth Day! Special vendors will be demonstrating and selling products and tutorials that will help you make lifestyle choices both the planet AND your wallet can enjoy. Farmers Market enthusiasts and novices alike have the opportunity to learn something new on Saturday morning, from non-GMO veggies to tips about rainwater collection. And, as if a farmer’s market isn’t inherently earth-friendly enough, this one is going energy-neutral! This Saturday, they will unveil their new solar project.

When: Saturday, 9:00am-1:00pm

Where: 186 S Castell Ave

2. Family Nerf Gun Day

In case you were worried your family wasn’t going to have the opportunity to pelt each other with harmless foam bullets this weekend, Family Nerf Gun Day is coming to the rescue! This hilariously fun family day will feature two battles (beginning at 1:00pm and 3:00pm). Families must provide their own plastic weapons, and the city of New Braunfels will supply all the necessary ammo to demolish the competition. And, in case you were worried, power snacks will be provided.

When: Sunday, 1:00pm-5:00 pm (Rain Date: May 1)

Where: Torrey Park, 776 E Torrey St,

Does anything sound more romantic than “Moonlit Date on Landa Lake”? Participating couples are offered the chance to enjoy the moonlit evening lakeside under a cabana or on the water via paddleboat. Landa Lake has long been held as a favorite area gem, and this is a chance to experience it in a whole new way. Pre-registration is required, so if you’d like to attend, register by calling Jason at (830) 221-4370!

Just when you thought your pup wasn’t going to get a chance to splash into Springtime, Doggie Dip Day comes along! This potentially hilarious and definitely fun-filled event invites (friendly) dogs to join in a special swim at Springfed Pool. Please note that all dogs must have current rabies vaccinations and wear a collar they can swim in. Owners are required to clean up after their pets!

As if that wasn’t enough, the Landa Park Dolphins are hosting a “Splash and Dash” -a swim-and-run event honoring Coach Bud. In fact, all proceeds from the event will contribute towards a permanent structure in Coach Bud’s name.

When: Doggie Dip Day: Sunday, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Splash and Dash: Saturday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
