1. Take Swing Dancing Lessons

This year, strike a resolution off your list right away and sign up for swing dance lessons! On Tuesdays (starting January 8th), take a beginner swing class at Swing Junction to learn the ropes. Swing dancing may look intimidating, but once you learn a few moves it can be really fun!

2. See a Fleetwood Mac Cover Band

If you’ve always wanted to see Fleetwood Mac but never had the time or money, Nightbird (a Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks tribute band) is taking this stage for a night of fun at River Road Ice House. Find tickets here!

3. Shop at An Antique Show

The New Braunfels Civic Center is playing host to the  New Braunfels Antique Show & Sale on the second weekend of January! Dealers from over 19 states (and even one from France!) will be there to show you the nostalgic treasures they've collected. 

When: January 11-13, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

4. Learn About the Headwaters

Perhaps a resolution of yours this year is to learn more about the town in which you reside. Take note that the Headwaters at the Comal are touring the 1930s-era water utility buildings and their historical use this month. Once a month, enjoy the opportunity to dig a little deeper into the archaeology of our region by people who know their stuff.

5. Visit the New Braunfels Farmers Market

Take a weekend this month to check out the New Braunfels Farmers Market. Products from local farmers and other artisans will be on display and for purchase throughout the morning, and local entertainment will be a treat to your ears as you peruse the goodies.

When: Saturdays, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

6. See The Oak Ridge Boys perform

The Oak Ridge Boys (a country and gospel quartet) are coming back to the Brauntex once again, and they're bringing their lush four-part harmonies and upbeat music with them. They have churned out dozens of country hits over the four decades of their musical careers and are surely a must see when they come to town. Grab your tickets here before they are gone.

7. Watch the Dachshund Races

The pups are running again this month at the Dachshund Races at Krause’s Cafe! This favorite local event will take place on January 20th. Take a long Sunday afternoon to eat and drink at Krause’s with friends before the dogs get ready to race outside.

8. Say "Cheers" to the Arts

The 39th Annual Dinner with the Arts is happening at the New Braunfels Civic Center to commemorate an incredible year in artistry in our community. Enjoy a night of wine, an elegant buffet dinner, awards, and a show. Tickets are available here for those belonging to member organizations!

9. Find Ideas at a Wedding Show

Register here for the Reneau Farms wedding show happening this month in New Braunfels. If you are a married couple to be, this is a great chance to interact with 50 of the best Hill Country vendors around. The event also has door prizes, brunch, cocktails, a fashion show, hair and makeup demos, and so much more. This event is free! All you have to do is register.

When: January 27th, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

10. Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.

At 10:00 AM at Prince Solms Park, gather with the community to commemorate and celebrate the work of Martin Luther King Jr. The event will include a re-enactment of a Dr. King speech, a gospel choir, and a march. This march is a great event for kids to learn about our civic heroes!
