Five Things to Do in New Braunfels This Weekend (August 26-28)

New Braunfels residents love that the town provides so much to see and do while still maintaining a great culture and small town feel. This weekend is no exception; there are a variety of different “things” happening in and around town. No need to research, five of the best fun things to do in New Braunfels this weekend are described below. Hopefully, this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!

See Real Cowboys at the Ring of Fire

If you’re looking to tap into your country roots and kick up some dirt, head to the Ring of Fire Ranch Rodeo and Concert down at the Comal County Fairgrounds. The Ring of Fire is a western lifestyle weekend set up with real working cowboys from the surrounding ranches. It is an event to display the tasks these ranch hands perform on a daily basis, made available to anyone curious about the life of a real cowboy. At the end of the rodeo, a concert and dance floor opens up featuring Billy Mata. Tickets are available here, and all proceeds go to support the local youth in agriculture.

When: Saturday, 5:00PM-11:45 PM

Get Crazy at a Toga Party

Toga party! The people down at Patek’s Craft Beer and Wine Bar sure know how to have a good time. Grab your cleanest white bed sheet and drape it over yourself like Greek royalty to join in on the fun. Channel your inner Animal House character and prepare for funny cups, costumes, and it wouldn’t be a Patek’s party without great beer specials! See the Facebook page for more information.

Where: Patek’s Craft Beer and Wine Bar, 494 N Union Ave

Shop for Fresh Food at the Farmers Market

We always feel like the weekend is going just right when we decide to cook a nice, healthy dinner in the late evening with good friends and a sturdy porch. The New Braunfels Farmer’s Market is propped up every Saturday for us to do just that! With over 75 local vendors setting up, this market is your one stop shop for a fine meal. The local farmers pick produce on Friday to prep for market the following day, so you know it is fresh. Goodies include grass-fed meats, eggs, bacon, pantry items, skin care, home and laundry care, baked goods, and some food hot and ready to eat! What are you waiting for? Get healthy and get local!

When: Saturday, 9:00AM-1:00PM

Where: New Braunfels Farmers Market, 186 S Castell Ave

Watch a Performance of The Outsiders

The Performing Arts Academy of New Braunfels is hosting a performance of The Outsiders only this weekend at the beautiful Brauntex Theater. The Outsiders is a story about two teens gangs in the mid-1960s, the Greasers and the Socs, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hinting at the class system of Romeo and Juliet, the Greasers are from the wrong side of the tracks, and the Socs are children of wealthy parents with plenty of resources. Tickets for this show can be found here. There are only two showings so grab them fast!

When: Saturday, 7:30 PM / Sunday, 2:00 PM
