This weekend is no exception, there are a variety of different “things” happening in and around town. New Braunfels is full of heritage and this week’s events showcase the best of what the town has to offer as the holiday season continues. Lend Your Voice to Caroling on the Plaza

A can’t miss New Braunfels event, Caroling on The Plaza returns this year for its 35th anniversary. The event takes place in front of the recently decorated downtown gazebo, providing the perfect backdrop to celebrate as a community. The Greater New Braunfels Arts Council will once again lead the program, helping lead the crowd in singing traditional Christmas carols. In addition, choirs representing local schools will also perform. Finally, the night will be capped off with a candlelight rendition of “Silent Night” in English, German, and Spanish.

When: Friday at 6:30 pm

Run for a Cause at the St. Judes Ranch Jingle Bell 5k

This weekend Gruene offers a great opportunity to both stay in shape and give back as the St. Jude’s Ranch Jingle Bell 5k takes place this Saturday. For the past 40 years the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has been caring for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. This weekend the 5k supporting the ranch will features awards for both the top female and top male finishers. Additionally, awards will be given out for a variety of different age groups, so bring the whole family!

When: Saturday at 8am.

Are you itching to see some art but don’t want to spend your time inside a museum or at a traditional art show? The Pour Haus in New Braunfels has created an event just for you! Located in the heart of New Braunfels, The Pour Haus features live music, an outdoor patio, washers, giant Jenga, and was voted the best bar in New Braunfels. This weekend the Pour Haus hosts “Art Haus”, an event showcasing local artists and featuring live painting, live music, and the usual offerings of the Pour Haus. Stop by the Pour Haus this Sunday to check out local art and kick back for a few hours!

Take in The Nutcracker

Looking to start a new family tradition this year? How about taking in a show! The Nutcracker is a holiday staple, incorporating themes and tunes that appeal across generations. From the nutcrackers themselves to the impressive acting and dancing, the Nutcracker itself makes for a fantastic holiday experience. To make the show more appealing, this is the 7th year the Brauntex has presented the Nutcracker in New Braunfels after many years of success at the theatre. Treat the Kids to Kids’ Night Out at Landa Park

Have the kids had a rough week? Why not give them some much needed time away from the parents at Kids’ Night Out! Landa Park is one of the most popular destinations in New Braunfels and regularly hosts events for both kids and the whole family. This weekend, Kids’ Night Out offers a safe, supervised, and fun environment to explore, engage in activities, and meet new friends. The event will feature a variety of different games and activities along with snacks!
