Attend a Benefit for the Pet Shelter

The New Braunfels Jaycees (a young professionals organization composed of aspiring leaders aged 18 to 40) and the Humane Society of the New Braunfels area are teaming up to host the inaugural Big Bets for Homeless Pets fundraiser. With a $40 entry fee, enjoy a fun casino night with games like slot machines, blackjack tables, Texas Hold’em, craps, money wheels, roulette, and chuck-a-luck. Even though this is a benefit, at the end of the night you can cash in your winnings for some great door prizes. The night benefits the Jaycees to help out in their philanthropic and volunteering efforts as well as raising funds to support the animal shelter in caring for the homeless and at-risk animals in the area. Complimentary beer and hors d’oeuvres are included in the ticket price, and you’ll receive $1,000 in casino chips at the door. Ticket purchasing and more information here.

When: Saturday, 7:00-11:00PM

Where: McKenna Events Center, 801 W San Antonio St

Drink Craft Beer on the Hill Country Brew Tour

Looking for a way to taste all of the local flavor? The Hill Country Brewery Tour is one of the best ways to try out all of the beers that are brewed right in our area. Start things off by filling your stomach with Underground Pizza and head over to the first stop at New Braunfels Brewing Company. A German inspired brewery, NB Brew Co has eight taps with selections ranging from light to dark. They are currently running a Sour Series, and you can learn more about what makes a beer sour. After that, visit Middleton Brewing, in Wimberley, and Guadalupe Brewing (be sure to try their Honey Ale and Scotch Ale). The tour will wrap up at Patek’s Craft Beer Bar, an exciting place to try new and interesting beers. Tickets are available here and include an OffRhodes Belgium Taster Glass and beer tastings at all three breweries, lunch at Underground Pizza, photos of the trip, and safe transport throughout the whole tour.

When: Saturday, 11:00AM - 6:00PM

Where: Underground Pizza, 911 River Hill Rd
