One of New Braunfels’ favorite traditions is the 4th of July parade, and this year the excitement is as electric as ever! Bring the whole family down for fun, food, music, and lots of parade classics. Make sure you get there early to grab a good spot to see all the floats and fun.

2. Bike Down River Road
Every Thursday this summer is Bike Night on River Road! Hang out at Koozie’s for food and music, then grab your bike and ride down to River Road Ice House for even more fun! Oh, and did we mention discounted food and drinks at both locations? Plus, after each show, there will be a free raffle for a $100 Gruene H-D gift card.

3. Show Off Your Skills at TSR

Thursday Night Showdowns are back at Texas Ski Ranch and are open for all riders of all ages and any skill level. From beginners to experts, this event is a fun way to get better as a rider and also make friends during a weekly competition. More information is available on the website!

4. See Live Music at Schlitterbahn
Schlitterbahn is shaking things up a bit this summer with their first ever Rock the Bahn Music Festival! Starting July 7th, live bands will take the stage at the lagoon every Saturday to help guests rock as they float. For lineup and ticketing information, head to the Schlitterbahn website.

5. See Rodney Carrington Live
Rodney Carrington is a very talented comedian, actor, singer, and writer who has released eight major label records and sold millions of copies. He has since self-released several records under his Laughter’s Good Records company and is ready to come to Whitewater Amphitheater to bring the laughter to you. 6. Watch the Dachshund Races

We know what you were thinking - “Hey, when is someone going to race those Dachshunds again?” Well, someone heard you, because Krause’s Cafe is doing its renown Dachshund Races on Saturday, July 14th. Come to check out the fun, and if you’ve got a dog you want in the race, then register that speedy weenie by calling the cafe at 830-625-2807. The event benefits the Humane Society of New Braunfels.

7. Celebrate Summer at River Jam 2018

8. Get Crafty at Quiltfest
Did someone say Quiltfest 2018? Make your way to the New Braunfels Civic Center for a weekend filled with quilts to celebrate them in all their beauty. Of course, there will be quilts on display, but stick around for vendor presentations, antique bed-turning, and several vendors that will have quilts for sale!

9. Get Country at Freiheit Fest
Most people don’t know that Freiheit is more than just a restaurant...so the Freiheit Country Store is putting on their 1st Annual Freiheit Fest to celebrate the tiny community with good tunes and great fun! They are having a Best Dried Sausage Contest too, which means everybody wins. Tickets are available here.

10. Try New Local Wines

The Grapevine in Gruene hosts the “Come and Taste It” event every third Thursday of the month to feature Texas wineries newest releases, as well as hand-picked selections from the Grapevine staff. This is a complimentary tasting held on the patio with samples of food as well. Listen to live music, get a free prize, what’s to lose here!
