As the winter season comes to a close in Texas, so does the NFL postseason fun. Even if you don’t like football all that much, attending or throwing a Super Bowl party is always a great excuse to hang out with friends, break your New Year’s resolution to “eat less junk food,” and to watch some iconic musical artists take the field during the electrifying halftime shows.
This year, why not throw the party at one of these homes? Some houses feature home theaters (perfect for isolating the party to a room built just for big screen fun), while others have great living room spaces to host the whole gang. We put together a list of five homes with these features, as well as a few sports bars you might want to visit if going out for the big game is more your speed.
1. 16 Horseshoe Ct (T Bar M Ranch Estates) - $1,175,000
Located in the lavish T Bar M Ranch Estates neighborhood, this home combines comfort with lovely decor. The upstairs bonus room is perfect for playing billiards or other table games, and additional space allows for couches and big screen televisions. The perfect place for a Super Bowl shouting match is in the home theater, complete with a couple of rows of recliners with cup holders and space for snacks, all facing a large screen. Get the grill running in the outdoor kitchen area and have some friends hover over the grill as you discuss winning tactics for your favorite team. Don’t forget about the swimming pool outside you can jump into in the event your team fails to take home the win!
2. 107 Sun River (River Chase) - $720,000
The first thing that we love about this home in the Sun River neighborhood is how much space it has from main neighborhood roads and next door neighbors. They won’t hear your yelling when your team scores that touchdown in the last few seconds of the first half. This house offers a home theater as well, with loads of floor space for snack trays, wrestling matches (if it comes down to it), and letting the kids play during the game. The kitchen and living room also boast as an excellent spot for hosting and preparing food for all the hungry guests.
3. 2072 Heaton Hall Dr (Castle Ridge) - $230,000
You might have a group of friends or family that love different teams and need to separate during the game, and we think this home on Heaton Hill Drive is going to let you host everyone without stress. The main living room has got plenty of space for long couches and entertainment systems, and the backyard is perfect for grilling and chilling between plays. With four bedrooms, the option to convert one into a media room to host special events like this is very attainable.
4. 2938 Post Oak Circle (Oak Creek Estates) - $294,900
This fantastic 4-bed/2-bath house in the Oak Creek Estates neighborhood has a wide living room with plenty of seating options to have friends and family come over and get comfortable. The kitchen has a breakfast bar to place all the game treats on and creates a simple partition for people to go to the kitchen and sulk when their team blows a great play. The bonus room upstairs is great to have a play space for the kids, so it doesn’t feel too crowded.
5. 31323 Wildcat Dr (Bulverde Hills) - $354,300
For the entertainer who wants everyone to have a good view of the screen, this house in Bulverde Hills is for you. The comfortable and homey living room offers loads of seating options and screen space for the big game, but the back deck is what we are really obsessed with. It features an awning to hang party lights and space for an outdoor entertainment center. Take the stairs down to the pool if the weather is great after the game!
5 Sports Bars for Game Night

1. Scores, 223 W San Antonio St
Looking for a straightforward sports bar and want to keep it local? Scores on San Antonio St is the spot for you. There are televisions all around the bar with the best games going, and (based on many Yelp reviews) the bartender will keep the drinks flowing during your whole stay. Many customers praise this place for their great service and good happy hour (Wednesdays are 50 cent wings!).
2. Buffalo Wild Wings, 1400 N I-35
Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the most well-known sports restaurants across the nation, and for a good reason. In any direction, you’ll have eyes on at least five televisions that are playing every game going on at the moment, and when the customers mention a particular game a lot, it gets put up on the big screen. The wings are good, the rest of the menu is fantastic, and the comradery you’ll encounter at this place will have you coming back for more.

3. Billy’s Ice House, 1193 Loop 337
Billy’s Ice House is a great spot to hang out during the game if you don’t care too much about seeing every play, but want to be with a rowdy bunch of friends having a good time. Billy’s will have the television on, the drinks pouring, and encourages everyone to take advantage of the daily specials!
4. Mozies, 1601 Hunter Rd
Mozies is ideal for sports fans who want to catch the big game in Gruene’s Historic District. Enjoy your Sunday stroll around the shops and, as the clock ticks closer to kick off, pop into Mozie’s for dinner and a beer or cocktail. Mozies has a rustic elegance with a full bar lined with televisions to keep everyone tuned into every play. They’ve got a hunch that their 1/2 pound charbroiled cheeseburger (the Char-King) is on it’s way to being famous. Don’t skip on Mozies next time you’re in Gruene!

5. Pour Haus, 386 W San Antonio St
The Pour Haus is similar to a backyard catered to entertaining guests and hosting big events, so if the weather is nice, pick Pour Haus to watch the Super Bowl! Expect a friendly atmosphere with swings, firepits, and yard games like cornhole and giant Jenga. This is the spot for a big group to enjoy each other while tuning in intermittently to the score. Texas nights in February can be a bit unpredictable, so make sure you check the weather report before making plans to stop here!
Whether you watch the game, wait for the commercials, or love watching the halftime show and screaming your head off, the Super Bowl will kick off on February 4th at 5:30 pm.
