Five Things to Do in New Braunfels (and Seguin!) This Weekend (October 21-23)

New Braunfels residents love that the town provides so much to see and do while still maintaining a great culture and small town feel. This weekend is no exception; there is a variety of different “things” happening in and around town. No need to research, a few of the best fun things to do in New Braunfels (and Seguin!) this weekend are described below. Hopefully, this list will make planning a perfect Texas Hill Country weekend a little easier!

Check Out the Fall Into Art Festival

The Fall Into Art loveliness continues this weekend with tons of fun events happening all across New Braunfels. The comedy play “Night Comes Early” will be happening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Bulverde Community Theater presented by STAGE Inc. On Sunday at 7 PM, Smithson Valley High School is having their choir concert, showing off their talents for a fun fall treat. Saturday and Sunday is the big Street Festival at Gruene Lake Village, who will host over 70 artists from all over the nation, displaying their greatest works for all festival goers! This event is sponsored by the Greater New Braunfels Arts Council and benefits the Community Endowment for the Arts’ $100,000 matching fund set up by the McKenna Foundation. Eat Burritos, Save the Animals

Now is the perfect time to eat a burrito and not feel terrible about it afterward! Chipotle and the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area are pairing up to raise money for the Humane Society this Saturday. All you have to do is order your food, and at the register mention that you are there in support of the HSNBA and 50% of the proceeds will go to them! You have to have lunch anyway, so what’s the holdup?

Go to a Zombie Party at the Bowling Alley

Zombie fans! Looking for a fun party to get together with friends and watch the new episode of The Walking Dead? Look no further! Fiesta Lanes is hosting a zombie-themed party to get everyone excited about the Season 7 premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Two hours of bowling, a trivia contest, a photo booth and a best zombie contest for those who want to dive in all the way and dress up like those creepy walkers. After that, get settled, as the projector will play the brand new episode for the whole party to enjoy. Oh yeah, did we mention there will be a zombie chase? Because there will be. Have Some Family Fun at the Holy Smokes BBQ

The Men’s ACTS Community of Saints Peter and Paul are putting on a family fun event and a mouth watering good time with their BBQ Cook Off at River City Park. Registration is closed, but there is a chance that there might be room for a couple more teams at the gate, so stay updated on the event page. For those competing, the grand champion of the contest wins a cool $1000, and nice payouts for the three runners-up. Family events include putt-putt, sand volleyball, washers, a water balloon launch, go-carts, and batting cages. Enjoy some delicious meats and sides made by your neighbors and start the weekend right with friends and family!

Seguin natives Gordon Rockett and the Cavaliers are taking the stage this Friday at the Double Diamond Saloon and Dancehall. After a long week, we Texans know that a perfect way to rejuvenate is by putting on our dancing boots and heading down to the dance hall for good drinks, good friends, and of course - good music. Gordon Rockett and the Cavaliers are seasoned performers who play all kinds of country and rock music ranging from George Strait and Merle Haggard to the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.
